Here
are some cool shows you should watch this summer. I'm sparing you
a big introduction so you'll take those extra minutes and read about
these shows
so read this

State
Of Grace (Fox Family Channel - Mondays 9pm)
|
| I LOVE this show. It's all about these 2 families - the Jewish family the Rayburns and a catholic family the McKees. Actually, the best part about the shows are the families' 2 daughters -- Grace McKee (played by awesome actress Mae Whitman from Hope Floats) and Hannah Rayburn (played by newcomer Alia Shawkat who's really cute and has tons of curly hair). This show is sort-of like a chicks version of the Wonder Years, but even better. It's also full of funny Yiddish/jewish jokes if you're into that but if not, it's still super funny. And each night they show 2 half-hour episodes back-to-back which is great. Watch it. I promise you'll love it (or at least not want to poke your eyeballs out with a fork). |

Real
World New York (MTV - Tuesdays 10pm)
|
| All personal stalking-related
stories aside, this season RULES! Even though there aren't any cute
guys in the house, the show is still worth watching. There's: Nicole "I wear SOOOO much makeup all over my face all the time, even to bed" Coral "I all of a sudden wear headdresses and love to fight about race-relations" Lori "I am just a slut who is desperate to hook up on camera" Rachel "I am the token innocent and people call me Snuggle-bear" Mike "I am the best looking of the 3 ugly guys so I act like a king" Kevin "I have never seen a black person in my life but even though I saw the RW New Orleans and what happened to Julie, I will still make ignorant remarks" Malik "I just hang out with my big afro and stay out of people's way" C'mon, this is reality tv at it's finest. Watch it once and you'll be hooked. For real. |

Road
Rules: The Quest (MTV - Mondays 10pm)
|
|
Just when Road Rules looked like it couldn't get any worse, along comes this season to save the day. Hallelujah. There's all kinds of drama going on here as the cast travels the world searching for pieces of some "ancient" crest. There's already been some nooky happening. And it's extra fun to watch people act like dumb Americans in a foreign country. Bottom line: there's lots of stupid games and fights. What else do you need? |

Big
Brother 2 (CBS -- Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays 9pm) |
| This house if full of scummy people. None of which deserve to win $500,000, that's for sure. But whatever, I still watch it anyway cuz it's damn entertaining. Hell, my whole family watches it and we make fun of all the losers in that house. So really, it doubles as a family bonding experience for me. But actually, this is way too much time to commit to one show so I'll tell you what you really need to watch. Thursday night is the one night you HAVE to watch cuz this is when they kick somebody out of the house. Lots of tension and some tears. Always a pleasure. Saturday night is the second priority night to watch cuz this is when they nominate the 2 housemates who live in fear all week waiting to see who gets kicked out on Thursday. Hee hee. Tuesday nights can fully be skipped, unless you have nothing else to watch. It's just full of house drama that eventually gets cut into a higlight package and shown on the Thursday show. So there. Enjoy. |

Fear
Factor (NBC - Tuesdays 9pm)
|
Ok, I don't really watch this show every week, but the few times I have watched it, it's been amusing. But occasionally I've had to turn it off when they do a stunt that grosses me out even just by watching it on my tv. Hello, I live in NY. Do I really need to see people be covered in a coffin of roaches? No thanks. And they make these suckers eat all kinds of nasty stuff, like bull's testicles, to live crickets and sheep's eyes. (Insert a barfing sound here). Crazy people endure these tests along with nutso physical stunts involving super-high heights, being sunk underwater, and being dragged by a horse to win a whopping $50,000. Hi, but don't these people know they go on the Weakest Link and win that much in 1 hour? Tune in to see for yourselves. |

Cannonball
Run 2001 (USA - not sure when
)
|
|
So I was up really late Sunday @ midnight and I saw this show on USA and I was totally mesmerized by it. Six themed-cars full of mismatched people have 5 days to drive cross country and (maybe) do some Road Rules-style stunts along the way. (?) Sorry for the sketchy details here, but this show is totally worth surfing your tv guide to find out when it's gonna be on again. One car has Survivor1-Sue, Survivor2-Jeff, and Temptation-Kaya in it. The others are stocked with playboy bunnies, hip-hop dudes, truckers, a grandma, and some other interesting road trippers. It's only a 5 part series so I think it might end soon. |
