CROSSROADS: BRITNEY'S MOVIE REVIEWED

Ok, I thought this movie was totally cute. I had a feeling that I was gonna like before I even saw it just from the cast alone. I mean, Britney is one of my faves, but her 2 friends, uber pregger white-trash Mimi, played by Taryn Manning (from Crazy/Beautiful with Kirsten Dunst) and gorgeous richie-rich Kit, played by awesome Zoe Saldana (from Center Stage) were great also. And Britney actually acted pretty well. Not to mention the fact that she looked sooo good in all of her outfits. But seeing as how the majority of this movie takes place on a road trip, I still haven't figured out how Brit & Co. managed to change clothes a million times. But the movie really was good, not at all like cheesy Glitter, until about 1 hour into it (excluding the ode-to-Justin singalong in the car). In particular, the movie pulled me away when the moment the "I'm Not A Girl" poem was busted out… don't worry I won't say anything that will spoil the movie. From that point on, the movie took a deep plunge downward, which really bummed me out. But all in all, I thought it was a fun, chick flick that you should only go see if you really dig Britney. I give it 3 stars.

FELICITY GOES SYNDIE!

From The Hollywood Reporter:
Women's Entertainment has acquired the off-network rights to "Felicity," signing a deal for all four seasons of the Buena Vista Television-produced series. WE, making the announcement at the Winter Critics Tour in Pasadena on Wednesday, has picked up the series starting in October. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "We chose 'Felicity' as our first-off network series for its widespread appeal to women," said WE general manager and executive VP Martin Von Ruden. Created by J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves, "Felicity" launched in 1998 on the WB. Starring Keri Russell, the series draws a heavy 18-24 primarily female audience attractive to advertisers.

CONGRATS TO THE WB!
Gilmore Girls, Reba, and Smallville were all given early pickups for next year!! Woo-hoo! (Sadly, I have a feeling that Roswell and possibly Dawson's Creek will not be picked up for another year, but I hope I am wrong.)

January 15, 2002

From E! online:
"FAREWELL: The WB's Felicity not coming back next fall for a fifth season, E! Online's Wanda reports The WB is not commenting, but the series starring Keri Russell is expected to finish out its run when it returns to the network in April."

Note from Jenny: I cannot say how sad this makes me. I am going to miss Keri and the Sh-Meagan gang more than anything. And just when her hair was growing back so nicely... (sigh).

*NSYNC @ PEOPLE'S CHOICE

Thank goodness *NSYNC won for fave musical group at the People's Choice Awards! It was awesome to see JC, Lance, and Chris in attendance. I can only imagine Justin was hanging out somewhere with Britney and Joey might've been stuck at the In-And-Out Burger waiting for his order. (Ok, that was kinda rude, but I say it with love!) JC looked really hot (as usual), and Lance didn't look bad either. And yes, that was Emanuelle Chriqui, Lance's co-star in "On The Line", sitting next to my beloved JC. What the hell is that all about? Is he dating her? I will do some digging and report back if/when I can confirm or deny.

OLSEN GIRLS GO BIG SCREEN!

The Olsen twins are gonna make a feature film! Hooray! Yes, it was announced late last week that billionaire tweens Mary-Kate and Ashley are ditching their totally cute tv show, "So Little Time" in favor of feature films. How lucky! Well, anyway, if the movie is as good as their last few made-for-tv ones (c'mon Passort to Paris was cute), sign me up for tix!

SH-MEAGAN ON ALIAS

Since I just started watching Alias this month, I was totally surprised to see "Sean" (aka Greg Grunberg) from Felicity with a recurring role on the show! That's right, one half of the infamous "Sh-Meagan" couple is playing a CIA tech-y person. Ok, that's it. Just wanted to alert anyone who didn't' already know.

JOSS WHEDON SCORES AGAIN

Joss Whedon, the amazing creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, was given a put-pilot commitment for a new show in Fall 2002. It's called "Firefly", and it's about some people who live in a space-station that lights up like a firefly. OK, so I'm a little shady on the details, but hey, it's some kind of sci-fi-ish show from Joss, so who really cares. It's gonna be great.

OLD FAVES RETURN AGAIN!

Woo-hoo! A new show from the people behind"Roseanne" was announced to day. If/when it gets on air, it will be a mid-season replacement on the WB. The show is called "Eighties" and stars Brittany Daniel from Dawson's Creek, Eddie Shin from Gilmore Girls, and Chyler Leigh from Safe Harbor and Not Another Teen Movie. I am psyched cuz I love all 3 of these people. I wonder if this means Eddie Shin's "Henry" on Gilmore Girls will not be able to be Lane's boyfriend (i.e, Tracy & Elena on Felicity) cuz he has his own show. That would suck. But I miss Brittany and Chyler, so I'm glad to see them on a new show. I think it's supposed to be like an 80's version of That 70's Show. I think I could dig that.

MY BOYS!
Make sure to catch the new Pop Secret/NASCAR commercial on TNT starring Lance and Joey from *NSYNC! They are so cute in their little race-car oufits. And they're also promoting the movie On The Line. Woo-hoo!

COMMERCIAL GIRLS

Just when I was starting to really miss Popular, I saw the latest Mastercard
commercial featuring April Tuna! Yeah, if you blink you'll probably miss her.
It's the commercial where peopel are naming the worst jpbs they've ever had
and she says "T-shirt folder" and thats it. Cool, huh? And don't miss
Brittany Daniel (formerly of Sweet Valley High and Dawson's Creek) in the new
Edge Shave Gel commercial. It's at a car wash, and of course, she's wearing
a bikini.

OUR POPULAR GUY!!

After the WB cancelled his fantastic show, Popular, creator, writer and
producer, Ryna Murphy, is coming back to the WB with a new show! Well, this
is all soooo in the beginning stages, and if it even works out if won't be on
the WB until Fall 2002. It's about an all-girls prep school and stars... our
favorite neglectful mother and yours... Cherry Cherry (aka Delta Burke). So
keep your fingers crossed.

CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF BUFFY????

Well check out FX channel, which has the reruns of Buffy, starting at Season One baby!! They're on at 7:00pm (eastern time) Monday through Friday, so check it out. It's fun to see what the Scooby Gang looked like years ago. And Charmed repeats on TNT. PLUS, the E channel is running this AWESOME special called Buffy's Back which gives an inside look at the show, including some behind the scenes stuff from this new season. It's a totally current special, so most of the interviews are new. It rocks.

BACK THIS FALL…

Rumor has it, Amy Jo Johnson, aka, "Julie" from Felicity, will be returning to the show this season. Woo-hoo, I hope it's true. And the same goes for "Alex" from Roswell, aka Colin Hanks. I read that even though he's dead he wasn't going to be gone…. Hmmmm.

'ON THE LINE' REVIEW

I saw the new *NSYNC movie starring Joey and Lance. Although I have pledged my eternal love for those boys, in good faith I have to say, you should only see this movie if you LOVE *NSYNC. Joey was really funny in the flick, but Lance probably won't be up for any Oscar nods for his performance…. hear what I'm saying? Spoiler…………………………………………… There is a GREAT cameo by Justin and Chris during the credits, that's almost worth going to see all on it's own.

A CHARMED DATING LIFE

Okay, so how weird must this dating triangle thing be. "Piper" dates "Leo" on the show, but he dates "Phoebe" in real life. "Phoebe" dates "Cole" on the show, but dates "Prue" in real life. "Phoebe" and "Prue" were loving sisters on the show but Alyssa and Shannen hate each other in real life. Neat, huh? It's like a party game.

ANGEL IS ENGAGED!

Don't do it Angel! David Boreanaz (beloved hottie vampire Angel) got engaged to some chick from Son of the Beach, Jamie Bergman. Dammit. (I know this happened in July, but I just heard about it now, so it's (sad) news to me.)

NEW ROSWELL CAST MEMBER

Alex Rodriguez will join the cast of Roswell this season as "Jesse Ramirez", a lawyer who works with Max & Isabel's parents. He was on Felicity a few seasons ago as the sleazy record company guy who offered "Julie" (Amy Jo Johnson) a deal, but really wanted to just be with her. Now, he is going to be Isabel's love interest on Roswell... hmmm. Not sure I'm digging this. Can't the folks at Roswell just consult with Joss Whedon and find a way to resurrect the old "Alex" (Colin Hanks) from the dead? Please?

THE LOVE CONNECTION

Here's some new young celeb couples I've recently heard about - Alyssa Milano (Charmed) is dating Brian Krause (Charmed). So "Leo" dates "Piper" on the show and her sister "Phoebe" in real life… small world. They are a totally cute couple. Also, Tangi Miller (Felicity) is dating J. August Richards (Angel). And Melissa Joan Hart is dating some actor Bryan Kirkwood. He did a cameo on Sabrina last year so I'm guessing that's when they met (or why he got the cameo). He seems cute enough, but I need some more details before I can give a proper assessment. They may have been dating for a while now, but this is the first time I've seen them on tv together. Sarah Michelle (Buffy) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (Summer Catch and a hundred other killer teen movies) are still engaged. Dammit. One day he'll wake up and see what a total overpowering witch she is and dump her. And when he does, I hope he finds my phone number. That's all for now.

MY *NSYNC EXPERIENCE -- JULY 16TH

Ok, so I recently worked on this amazing *NSYNC special. I have enough stories to last me a lifetime, but don't worry, I won't bore any non-fans out there by pouring them out here. Instead, I just wanted to share a few tidbits I found interesting and "newsworthy" in my world. Justin has totally grown up and become a super-fine man! He used to run a slightly distant 2nd to my beloved JC, but after seeing him now, the 2 guys are practically tied. He smelled really good and looked amazing without his shirt on (sorry, I start to drool every time I think of this image). Lance has also gotten hotter. He was still the quietest one in the bunch, but the most likely to listen to what I was saying. JC took like 20 minutes to stand outside his trailer and talk with me and my friend Heather, so he scored HUGE points on my scale (and he took pics with us before he left… bonus!) I think JC and Lance were crushing on a couple of female fans (boo), but nothing else really mattered because I got goodbye hugs and kisses (just slightly left of my lips) from JC, Joey and Justin. Damn, I love *NSYNC. Oh yeah, and their new album is THE BEST!!! We got to go to the PopOdyssey concert that night and it was incredible. It's hard to describe just what an amazing show these guys put on. (PS - Britn
ey was there too) More *NSYNC musings later…

THE MADONNA EXPERIENCE -- JULY 31ST

OK, so I saw Madonna's last show at Madison Square Garden. Holy crap… it was awesome! She looked great. I wanna be able to pole-dance like her when I'm that age. No big news to report, just wanted to say Madonna rocks. Our seats were really far away but I brought my binocs, so I was able to see it all up close… including Madonna starting to take her top off when she was running backstage to change. Who knew you could get that kind of view in the $45 seats with a pair of $10 binocs.

SHANNEN'S CHARMED REPLACEMENT

(From Variety.com) Rose McGowan is negotiating to replace Shannen Doherty in Spelling Television's hit TV drama "Charmed" at the WB network. Sources say the witching hour is nearing and, barring a last-minute implosion, that McGowan will join Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs as the third in a troika of sisters with mystical powers. McGowan would play a long lost sibling the duo didn't know they had.

REAL WORLD 10 SCOOP!!!

Guess what!? I found the new Real World house in New York City and I have been sorta stalking it for the past month. It's not hard to miss, cuz there are these big huge lights outside of all the windows shining in, and it's lit up like a spaceship. One day my friend Dale and I were walking by, hoping the front door would open, and guess what. . .it did! So we stood around about twenty feet from the front door pretending to talk on our cell phones while checking out the roommates. They were these two bored girls who were acting so silly and retarded in the middle of the sidewalk, screaming out loud how they were SO bored and wanted something to do. So after spending 45 minutes watching them play with stray dogs and dance to no music, we went over to say hi. Unfortunately, they signed those dumb confidentiality things and therefore they wouldn't actually admit to us that they lived in the house. Gee, do we think people actually walk around with mic packs & cameramen following them for no apparent reason? Anyway, they were totally lame and annoying, so we left after a few minutes. One other time, in the wee hours of the morning, we followed the camera crew following a roommate to the subway station. It was actually a lot more exciting than it sounds.

But now they've moved out, and they're gone.

WB FALL SCHEDULE

The WB Upfronts are today (5/15) so the official fall sked will be out this morning. But the bad news already broke yesterday… so brace yourself. Gone from the WB next season are…ROSWELL and POPULAR!

No, this is not a joke, I wish it was. I think this is the worst decision the WB could have made. But thank goodness UPN picked up Roswell. But how much UPN can I watch at one time? This is torture. If any WWF people show up on Buffy or Roswell, I will stop watching. I mean it. I can only pray that somebody would pick up Popular, but I know it won't happen. I don't know what I am going to do without my fix of Mary Cherry and the gang every Friday. Frankly, the show never got a fair shot, airing on Friday nights, but what's done is done.

New to the WB are un-enticing shows starring Reba McEntire and Bob Saget. Hello, is the WB now catering to the elderly? Who the hell wants to see either of those two? They certainly won't fit in airing after Dawson's Creek, that's for sure.

GOODBYE PRUE

PrueShannen Doherty has "left" Charmed. The season finale, which she directed, will be her last appearance on the show. From what I have read on the 'net, it looks like Alyssa offered an ultimatum while negotiating her new contract… Shannen goes or I go. I wouldn't have really guessed it, but Alyssa is apparently a much bigger draw for the Charmed audience, so she won. I guess those 1-800-COLLECT commercials don't hurt either. While I really did like Shannen on the show, Alyssa and Holly Marie were my favorites, so I'll get over it, I think. But now I'm hearing that Punky Brewster might be replacing Shannen on the show. I have two words about that… HELL NO!
