| Ok, this show is
getting a little scary for me to be honest. This week some bratty teen
was claiming to be possessed by a demon. How very Exorcist. Now for anyone
who knows me, they know I HATE scary things, so this whole ep was a little
creepy to watch. I know it's fake and all, but it still freaks me out.
So anyway, at the Wizard of Oz auditions (don't get me started), this
kid has another "possession" and winds up killing this woman
who was totally mean to him. Well, turns out he didn't kill her, his mom
did. And the kid was faking the possession thing after all. I know, it's
not a great review, but hey, it was scary! Beds were moving, he was flying
and growling
gimme a break. And oh yeah, I think Mike and Ellie are hot for each other. |

So this is Kevin Williamson's new mystery/thriller series set in the small town of Glory Island. I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about this show before tonight. I mean, I didn't know too much about it except it starred Eddie Cahill (Felicity's british ex-roomie Molly's gun-toting BF) and it was a mystery thing. So with that said, I actually enjoyed it. I mean, like most new shows, it's gonna take some getting used to. But I'm sure I'll keep watching, unless it gets really scary or gross, which it could. Tonight's first ep really just set the scene for the show. Eddie plays Mike Dolan. He's a writer. He wrote a book a few years ago based on how he thinks his dad was murdered in Glory and apparently he said a lot of not-so-nice things about his family and the whole town in it. So when he shows up, it's no surprise that people aren't so thrilled to see him. He's also got a mom, and 2 sisters, one who runs his dad's newspaper/gazette and the other is in high school. Then there's the sheriff Rudy and the quirky/freaky coroner, Ellie. She's also a forensic pathologist and she keeps dead bodies buried in her front yard to see how they decompose. Um, GROSS! And since this whole thing is created by Kevin Wiliamson, natch the police guy might have some gay tendencies. Kevin always puts a gay or possibly gay character in his tv shows. The plot of this ep was how some dude was pushed off the ferry intentionally by someone but who? Turns out the kids of Glory, including Mike's little sis, were playing this homemade boardgame "The Grim Reaper", where you had to do whatever task was on the card you pulled, like pierce your nose, dye your hair, or push a guy off the ferry. Nice, huh? Turns out it was the dude's own wife and a science teacher, who were trying to blame it on these kids and their game, but it didn't work. But my guess for the big scope of the show is that Mike is gonna try to search for whoever killed his dad. Could be some good fun |
